The reading rooms on Heldenplatz will be open during the Christmas holidays, with the exception of December 24 and 31 as well as public holidays. The reading rooms of the collections will only be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. between December 27, 2025 and January 5, 2026.

The reading rooms at Heldenplatz and of Picture Archive and Graphics Departement, as well as the Papyrus Museum and the House of Austrian History, will be closed on Wednesday, December 3, from 4 p.m. and all day on Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5 due to a police closure at Heldenplatz.
All other facilities of the Austrian National Library will be open as usual.
The Picture Archives and Graphics Department offers barrier-free access.
