Due to an event, the State Hall will be closed on Wednesday, November 19, from 12 p.m.

Reading rooms

Between December 27, 2025 and January 5, 2026, all reading rooms of the collections (except those at Heldenplatz!) will only be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Opening times during the holidays

The reading rooms on Heldenplatz will be closed on Sunday, October 26 (National Holiday), Saturday, November 1 (All Saints' Day) and Sunday, November 2, 2025 (All Souls' Day).

The State Hall, Literature Museum, Papyrus Museum, Globe Museum and Esperanto Museum will be open during their regular opening hours.

Up-to-date evidence of the need to be entitled to borrow / Researcher annual ticket on the basis of academic or professional activities (e.g. dissertation, post-doc, research project). The evidence should not be more than 3 months old.

The transmitted documents will be deleted after the approval process has been completed. The application form and proof of current academic activity are excluded from this. These documents are deleted 14 months after they have been submitted.

The transmitted documents are checked and the data entered into our user database for the purpose of issuing an annual ticket with special authorization or, in the case of an extension, compared with this.
