Due to an event, the State Hall will not open until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
The reading rooms on Heldenplatz and the reading rooms of the collections are closed on public holidays. This also applies to Sunday, June 8, and Monday, June 9 (Pentecost), as well as Thursday, June 19 (Corpus Christi).
Regular opening hours apply in the museums; in addition, all museums are open on Whit Monday.
The Papyrus Museum is only open from 12 noon on 11 June.
If you need books or magazine articles that are not available at any publicly accessible library in Vienna, we are happy to order these for you from anywhere in Europe by means of an interlibrary loan.

The ordered items are issued and taken back at the circulation desk near the Main Reading Room in the Heldenplatz client area from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please settle any fees there.
No, books may only be used in the reading rooms of the Austrian National Library.
