According to the PEN International Case List, 2022 was one of the most dangerous years for writers worldwide, with autocratic regimes censoring, torturing and murdering unwelcome opponents – and often persecuting writers, journalists or bloggers even after they have fled into exile. An exhibition in the foyer of the Literature Museum from 12 October 2023 to 31 March 2024 is dedicated to the situation of endangered writers in audio and video recordings as well as through five portraits.
